Anime Limited & MVM's 12 Days of Christmas 2020: 1st-12th Dec | 9:30am MVM, 5:00pm AL

I don't think most of the early birds will sell out. The big candidates from my perspective are Cyber City Oedo 808, Millennium Actress and Planetes mainly because the UK is the first for Blu-ray (or in MA's case, 4K Ultra HD).
Yeah i expect Planetes to sell out fast, since it is the first re-release since the mid 00s and first on blue ray and from what many posted on their wish list this has always been one they mentioned, so anyone who wants should grab it fast. I also expect the Full Metal Panic IV will also sell out, especially considering it has the drama cd that adapts the story that connect s3 and s4 together and this is the only set that will have it and FMP collectors will flood in to collect it.

The US collectors set had the audio drama as well iirc, so I think the collectors from abroad would have picked that one up when it came out.

Nope, the US set had the What If dramas (which honestly are pretty insubstantial); the Very Merry Christmas audio drama, which is the only adaptation of novel 6, has never received any English release. And that's exactly why I'll be getting the UK set, even though I have the US one already.

This year I'm going to hard budget £100 spend for myself.

I'll even repeat it in blue to keep in character with my avatar.

To add more context in what Glorian just said, Funimation's handling for the What If audio drama was also pretty poor as it was a raw CD with the translation placed on a booklet. The LE itself also sold out pretty fast. Also they used the artwork from Very Merry Christmas to represent the audio drama amaray case because their research is A+.

The Anime Limited release will instead have the What If and Very Merry Christmas on a Blu-ray disc with still images and subtitles so that it feels more like you're watching an anime than having to listen and mess around with the booklet.

And in typical Funimation fashion the booklet containing the translation of the audio shorts doesn't fit in the set.

Sure buddy, we believe you. We all thought the same last year.
Then the out of stock funimation stuff appeared.
Obviously that was a rare case but a hard budget easily turns into a guideline sometimes.

I only want 2 of the EBs which cost £60, which I have in my savings. The only problem I have is hoping I'm not working the day they turn up as I think they'll both be quite popular.

Good luck, I hope you can get them. For me the biggest one I REALLY want is Kill la Kill. Behind that it's probably K to match the ones I got in older mystery boxes. Anything else is budget pending.

That's why I used my blue text Umineko reference. It needs to happen lol

FMP might be one I end up skipping for budget sakes. How likely would the SE be to keep this audio drama?
Very unlikely. It would be too expensive to keep 4 Blu-ray discs for a single cour show on one set (basically the SRP would have go up). Its the same situation with Violet Evergarden where the Japan Tour compilation films may end up being exclusive to the CE set.

You guys are forgetting MVM is going to be a total mystery as well. Who know maybe Aniplex will respond to them next week saying "It's cool go ahead and put up pre-orders for our entire catalogue" :p
