i know the feeling i think i burnt my passion for anime out twice in my life.
i started to like anime originally around 94 when akira was on bbc2 and ch4 was showing late night anime. i collected loads of video then around 97/98 i started to get to go off it.
then around 2001/2 i finished...
hey i think robotech could be a good choice to pick up for a hollywood remake, robotech is a us re-telling of 3 anime series anyway.
also why does everyone think a anime couldnt work in live action in a hollywood film just look at the crying freeman film, that was a great movie that stuck...
its a fairly average shounen that did well with its cheap budget but i guessing it was meant to be a 52 ep series but was cut to 24 half way through the series because the first few episodes are really slow and then half way through it just goes way too fast.
i enjoyed it for what it is and it...
i recommend getting the 2nd movie box set it has a much better selection than the first.
i also while i agree with most of points i think your reviews are sometimes a bit negative i mean even a bad lupin film is enjoyable.
i would do my own mini reviews but all the movies ive seen seem to...
here it is again the normal hate manga and love adv rubbish we had over the years online. there have been a few comments about manga releasing loto on the 2nd collection box but no comment about adv releasing the awful kakko kamen on dvd here, that show is much worse than loto.
i guess manga...
do manga even have 50 licences now, i know they lost the licence to most of there old stuff and looking at there dvd range there doesnt look like there are 50 titles but i could be wrong.
if they releaese any dvd that isnt already in there dvd range i hope that i recieves a proper dvd release.
ive heard the japanese soundtrack on streetfighter 2 and the english rock soundtrack suits the film much better but im sure there are purists out there who would argue against that.
i still think a broader 'asian' influenced channel would be better because anime is such a small market but if you add some more small market together you get a bigger market.
for example
anime will draw in one market(infact differnet anime will draw in different people)
martial art films...
personally a anime channel would be hard to fill in the uk i think a better choice would be a Neo-type channel (meaning everything covered in the neo mag).
9-5 we can get the kids anime, studio ghilbi films, godzilla films and monkey.
5-9 - we get the regular anime series on the channel...
i think this is good for a music channel who are trying to be 'out there' now hopefully this will lead to a good anime block, there are plenty of dark/action heavy animes which could fit in well.
my suggestions
hellsing
gungrave
chrono crusade
blood+
bleach
and lots of the older anime...
