I think it really depends on how it's been mixed, but you're probably right in that there's a lot less call for spacial sounds in Conan, so it'd probably be less noticable, alas I don't own it or I'd try and give you an idea.

The 4K JP release has English subs, bought and watched it a couple of weeks ago.

Also a little confused where Amazon.jp are at in terms of this now. I think they've just rolled it into the 'Shipping and handling' fee. Here's 2 of my orders which are similar in price, one from 2018 where customs clearance fee was explicit and another from more recently where it was not...

I think fans tend to lose their goshdarn minds about anything that doesn't align with their viewpoint, part of the job. For example, I'm busy writing my letter of complaint that idaten deities isn't on any of these lists! I did have a really good time with both ODD TAXI and Sonny Boy though...
