Another epic boss fight.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Definitely the best of the Sequel trilogy, but also definitely a brains out film. Lots of cool action and nods to the original trilogy, without being a straight up copy like TFA, apart from the final act is pretty much The Return of the Jedi. Could have had a few more nods to the Prequels, but there were a few. Also ignored plenty of TLJ, but I felt kept enough.
I think if the Emperor stuff had been seeded earlier it would have been better, maybe that should have been hinted at a bit in 7 (think the shadow of Sauron in The Hobbit) and then him showing up as a cliffhanger for 8 if they planned it out better.

Sailor Moon Crystal: Death Busters Arc episodes 5-13 (Complete. Arguably the strongest of the three arcs though like the original adaptation and it improved on the new additions by making them less abrasive and more sympathetic. The animation was still off in places and the possession trope was a bit overused for my liking though.) 3.5/5

A live action Japanese film that came up on Netflix. It's about a young woman with cerebral palsy, who works as an assistant to a mangaka who doesn't give her any recognition to the outside world due to her disability, and whose mother treats her like a fragile doll.
Seeking independence she tries to get her own work published. One of the magazine editors she meets tells her that she needs more experience of the world which leads to lots of different situations and a surprise revelation.
It was quite slow in places and the lead actress was only OK, but she was an amateur and actually has cerebral palsy so it was definitely an authentic portrayal. There were a few interesting tidbits about the manga industry (I was wondering if this story was actually semi-autobiographical) and I liked the way they animated the bits when she was thinking up stories.
Overall quite an interesting story with some moving moments, but not fantastic.
