UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

I'm just imagining all the blu-ray.com members amarays falling out of their slipcovers every time they pick one up! 😅 Do they not have opposable thumbs?! You apply a tiny bit of force and nothing will fall out.

Miss Hokusai UE is a heavy bit of wood with a slipcover and that's perfectly fine, very sturdy too.

Yeah I can’t see why it’s $100 more than the SE, also no amaray or digipack means no from me because I’ve seen the perfect blue idea and I don’t like when I have to get my hand in to pull out a disc making me do that means a no from a CE when an SE is an option potentially and no confirmed UK SE is really concerning if the US gets an SE and we don’t..,,

From these tweets it sounds like we're also getting a SE.

Their tweets have misled me before I shall wait and if a UK SE comes I will 100% buy it as my other issue is there is a s2 and would I pay £90 twice for a meh show that I enjoyed when I watched but have forgotten near completely.

Another thing I don’t like is that the artwork, as pictured, seems so insignificant and stupid....

Well, It's gorgeous compared to the Japanese release I imported, not sure what I'm even seeing, there...

The corpse is this weirdo relict (and probably the former titutal "Perfect Bones" before they changed the title to being "B") and got teased in S1 (but never really explained all that much nor was it really plot relevant to that detective case that was the main plot thing of the first season.) The formula was pretty prominent for the main character to show up, whenever he solved something. The blurr was in the OP as well and seems something of a signature style for mysterious stuff or so.

If AL are working with Shout! Factory on the B: The Beginning and Promare US releases, it's only fair they help bring Children of the Sea and Millennium Actress over here too!

Not having it all inside a chipboard box Like Perfect Blue is a killer, though - no one over on BD.com is remotely interested in the CE set as pictured, if everything is going to just fall out the bottom of the slipcover. Very negative responses over there. No chipboard, no buy for them, especially at that price point. The CE is going to be a tough sell, I'm afraid.

I'll still be double-dipping on the CE, even though I've already imported the Japanese Blu-ray Box.
It's not a slipcover it's a chipboard slipcase like the Perfect Blue ultimate, it's just top loading instead of side loading.

Someone on blu-ray.com shared this image, not sure where they got it from. Looks like it will be a side loading rigid case after all.

Edit: Actually, I think that might just be the top of the book.

So it's basically a digibook inside a slipcover, but A4 sized. So, too big for a media shelf, it will need to be stored on a standard-size book shelf.
