UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

My goof. Didn’t read. I thought Accel World was really good, for its first half. The second half sucked as it went all bunny boiler.

Sad news... A Lull in the Sea CE is gone! 😪

Ah, thanks for the heads up regarding Accel World. Probably skip that one then. :)

A Lull in the Sea CE took way longer than I expected to go OOP. Thought it would be the first one to go, but I guess a fair number of people already got it in either the winter sale or during the DOTW.

It's strange to me that Chobits is going OOP. I feel like it's one of MVM's longest running licenses, I actually remember getting the DVD back when I was a teenager lol. Well glad I got the blu-ray upgrade when I did.

Whoever went for it without knowing if liked and would like to ditch Broken Blade and Chobits later on, let me know~
Hadn't really planned to watch it again anytime soon, but I did like BB's opening and the songs by Kokia and Chobits is a fairly good show, too. (Was half wondering if it might show up in the next Mystery box, but oh well.)

Worst case scenario you could always hold out for the re-release of Chobits later down the line by Funimation under their essentials/classics range (not referring to their discontinued Anime Classics line).

Also chances are you can find it at your nearest CEX store soon enough, I have a feeling a lot of them are going to get a few titles added from this sale as they usually do.

Yeah I been know to try out series and if its not my thing send it to Cex. But you may want to note DVD's (Blu rays are fine) they won't take in the post at the moment (have to go into the store), which I can see some people not being keen on at the moment. So there DVD supply could be a bit lower than you might except, but I'm sure they will get some, may just have to buy from them online and take the postage charge

I'd like to think that if something I've been interested in goes OOP before I got around to getting it, then that's a testament that I clearly wasn't interested enough and as such it went to someone who actually was interested "enough". Was thinking about getting Chobits and Fruits Basket, but at the same time there are other releases outside this sale that tempt me more and thus I've accepted that they probably ought to go to someone who are more excited for them. As such I pass on them.

Beside, I can guarantee a couple of these will turn up on Ebay and places. Not at these prices ofc, but if you're still interested in them it will most likely not be impossible to get hold of them for a period. I've seen some stuff from the AL Christmas clearance sale still being around out there if you do some digging.

Never thought that this would happen in the UK, given it was one of the first anime titles I got on DVD way back when it was coming out in single volume DVDs, but Love Hina is now gone...

What was the first day of the sale/day 1? I ordered a couple of items last Friday and got a dispatch email within minutes. Nothing arrived yet though.

I'm not at all bothered about waiting but I am bit concerned that they've vanished into the ether.
