Looks like another feck up with ALs fulfillment wrt to customs. Looks like they over declared the value of The Great Pretender by a significant amount. Ex VAT price was £83.33, I paid £74.99 after the unlimited discount. I just got a VAT bill for it with a valuation of about £95. I'll pay it but I'll be putting in a complaint once I get confirmation of the customs declaration.

watches a bit more of it ahh ok I think I get what they're going for now... intriguing choice about how to handle the mixed languages spoken I guess, but the whole point of a dub for me is not having to pay close attention to subtitles, so I will watch it but - wait ok... man this has been a wild ride of a first episode just cuz of that, though the show also seems rly entertaining anyway XP

Yea, this reflects the choices made in the original JP language track too, when the show stops and has an on screen prompt to translate all lines into Japanese, its difficult to ignore. Plus, when the 2 leads are interacting before that, neither seiyuu is speaking particularly good English, certainly would be a bad idea to run with it much longer than they did.
I think given that, the dub handles its pretty well by having the switch of "Japanese" just be English going forward (having Laurent speak with a put on French accent before the shift adds to it too). The Japanese spoken by Makoto Edamura before the switch in the dub is reused lines from Chiaki Kobayashi, everything else is Alan Lee (the EN VA).

I can understand being caught out by it, I've seen it happen a few times from people watching the show. :)

I pre-ordered Granbelm and it hasn’t shipped yet, so I’m guessing it’s been delayed, and they just haven’t announced it yet. I hadn’t realised it was supposed to be out yet, but to be honest, I don’t pay that close attention to release dates when I order from Al, since they so often have delays.
 
Over a week ago, I received an email about the shipment of "Great Pretender Complete Season 1 - Blu-ray Deluxe Edition", but there is still no tracking or anything like that. If it wasn't for this email, I wouldn't have known that they sent it, if they sent it at all, because I don't know anymore. It should have been sent by Fedex, because it is large, and I didn't receive an email from Fedex either.

I live in the UK (England, to be more specific) and have received my copy of that set, so they are shipping them out, but I don't know what the situation is like for EU/European customers, I hope you get your Great Pretender set soon!

Go onto the website and check the orders page, it should have the tracking number there.

Word of warning though it appears AL are over declaring the value on the customs form as I got charged the equivalent VAT amount for a £95 package despite the EB being £83.33 ex VAT(£75 with Unlimited).

I've paid it now and should have it by Thursday and I can see the declared Sterling amount, I only have the Euro equivalent atm which is €110.37 at the customs exchange rate of £0.8562/€1.

Now I see it there too and it's already in the country. Maybe it will even be delivered today. In my country, it pays on delivery, up to 500 Euro, if you submit a declaration.

I expect they declared £80 with me, including shipping costs.
 
Has there been any word yet on when the Collector Editions of Kids on the Slope with the corrected disc are going to ship out? AL held off shipping my December order because of the defect, but replacements discs have already gone out to those who actually received the faulty set, so I was hoping the corrected sets would be shipping by now too. My issue is that they also held my copy of the Death Parade CE in my order, while they did eventually send me Flowers of Evil CE separately as a partial ship. Not sure why they didn't send Death Parade along with the Flowers of Evil shipment since it was also in stock. 😞

I do know there were worldwide facebook outages yesterday so it might be that this happened amidst all that confusion? Still I agree that it is concerning (regardless of one's views on squatting, an Anime Limited link ought to be for what it's supposed to be for and take you to where it's supposed to take you). Wait I've just realised that that link is prob to someone sharing an explanation? I'll admit to being confused and possibly a bit out of my depth (chronic illness is such a pain honestly) XP

Someone at Anime Limited posted the wrong link on their Facebook posts, to gundamseedfreedomfilm instead of the correct link to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM . This website linked to in the post is being cybersquatted and is not registered by or affiliated with Anime Limited.
