Columbo, aka Peter Falk dies at 83

Yeah, the great columbo himself died on thursday night. Sad times =/ At least he was a good age. Makes me wanna go and re-visit some of the old series, movies, extended episodes and so on. Good classics there.

Yeah, this got a fair bit of coverage on the radio today, was nice to listen to interview excerpts and the like. A great man, RIP.

I loved watching Columbo as a kid. The idea that this dishevelled, unassuming guy was so clever as to outsmart people by biding his time, quietly building up evidence and slyly playing dumb was just so much more compelling than any other TV detective before or since. And Peter Falk absolutely owned the role as no-one esle could have done. A great actor who found the perfect character to play and will be long remembered because of it.
