DVD cover art for Nausicaa and The Cat Returns

Optimum Releasing have sent us the exclusive UK DVD cover-art for their releases of Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind and The Cat Returns. Both of these films are due for UK release on the 26th of September.

I know I've seen a different cover, but I've also seen that one before.

Actually, thinking about it now that would have been the film advert in the newspaper. I stand corrected.

the Nausicaa cover is less bright than the US version, but i actually think it looks better. the pic itself is the same but the colours look more 'washed out' and less garish.

both the Cat and Nausicaa covers are great - i can't wait for The Cat Returns though.

from what i've heard it was actually a mistranslation! it should have read, loosely translated, 'The Cat Returns the Favour' (referring to the part at the beginning of the film where the girl saves the cat's life, which in turn leads to her adventures in the Land of the Cats).

it's also a sort-of sequel to another Ghibli film, Whisper of the Heart. i really hope that will get a R2 release soon.
