Continuing their recent spate of anime acquisitions, last night Funimation confirmed their licensing of Heroic Age; a 26-episode Greek mythology inspired space opera/mecha anime from 2007. According to Anime News Network, the US-based anime publisher doesn't intend to release it on DVD until 2009, so, if Funimation are planning to release Heroic Age in the UK too (via Revelation Films), the latter half of 2009/first half of 2010 might be a fair estimate.

And that's not all. According to ANN they have also picked up nearly all of Geneon's unfinished titles as well. If revelation gets all of them too, they're going to be more popular than they have ever been. :D

This is what I want to see. Some smart business practice.
Anyone knows which were the Geneon titles they picked up?

On another note, if Funi acquire the rights of, and re-subtitle, Cardcaptor Sakura, and maybe even dub it, I will be ecstatic. I have heard many anime fans calling for a re-release of Cardcaptor Sakura, and I'm sure Funi will be happy to do it if there's enough interest.

It's nothing to do with subs. It's more to do with the fact that finding Cardcaptor Sakura DVDs is harder than trying to find the Holy Grail.
