According to information being solicited to the press, UK anime publisher MVM have licensed the 13 episode shonen-ai (boys love) comedy Gravitation (originally aired in Japan during the autumn season of 2000), with the first volume due out on the 7th of July. However, they have slightly delayed the release of FLCL for a few weeks; the new date is Mon, 28th Apr, but in the mean-time, you can whet your appetite with these four officially distributed (streaming) clips. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Also, the release date for the recently-licensed first volume of Death Note has been confirmed as Mon, 28th Apr. It will be a "two-disc release featuring the first eight episodes" (out of 37 in total), with special features including "English voice actor behind-the-scenes feature; Japanese animation and character designer interview; audio commentary for Episode 7; production art gallery; clean opening; clean closing;".

Awesome; I'll definitely be picking Gravitation up, mainly because I'd like to see a gay relationship in an anime instead of the usual straight ones :] The first volume is out the fay before my 18th birthday, too; Yay!? ^__^

Those clips really showcase how awesome the FLCL dub! I've got volume 1 on pre-order from Play.com and I can't wait to get my hands on it! :] With the release of series I thought we;d never see see over here (Berserk, FLCL, Gravitation) and the lowering of their prices, as well as a decent release schedule, MVM are fast becoming my favourite distributor over here!

I'm liking the sound of all those extras on the Death Note release, but I'm collecting too many series right now (plus the added cost of Crisis Core: FFVII for PSP coming up), so I'm going to hold off on Death Note for a while.

Good news for the UK market ftw!

Yup, FLCL is just superb to the extreme. *smoochuuu~~~*

I wonder if the UK release will use the Madman masters, and if those actually got rid of some of the terrible aliasing issues from the R1 version.

Is Gravitation dubbed ... or was it released only subbed?

The US discs contain a dub (no idea if it's any good as I didn't watch it). The OAV disc even contains a soundtrack-only track so people can drunkenly dub their own version.

The series is completely stupid (especially the manga) but a fun show. And nice songs. Enjoy :)

Wow I didn't know that Gravition wasn't licensed yet.It was absolutely years ago I picked up that series.I was never too fond of Shuichi's dub voice if I remember correctly.

Heh, that's what I thought about the FLCL dub. The clips were still excellent, though; especially clip 4 when that music kicked in.

I can't say I liked the FLCL dub from what I heard. I'll look into picking it up when I've finished what I'm currently collecting, but as usual, I think I'll stick to the sub.

Deffo going to get Gravitation. Was recently going to purchase the thinpak version online from the states, but holding out may pay off. I hope MVM take more risks like that in future!
