TokyoPop have published an interview with auteur anime director Satoshi Kon, looking at his latest movie, Paprika, as well as the rest of his career to date; his beginnings as a manga-ka, his influences and plans for the future.

It's definitely a better interview than the usual, an tackles Satoshi Kon as a person with interesting views and opinions rather than just a vehicle to pimp his latest movie. I haven't seen Paprika but I'm already looking forward to this new movie he speaks of!

An excellent read! Kon has always struck me as an interesting interviewee since he seems to strike out at movie buffs in general, rather than pigeonholing himself as an anime director. As well as being very good at his job, he often has some home truths about the industry he works in! They were definitely good questions though - I'm partway through Tokyo Godfathers at the moment and really enjoying it.
