Interesting concept for a series which is barely explained, interesting range of characters but the ending is very much anti climatic, like more episodes were due to be made (considering it ends in the middle of the big battle)

Pluto - Episodes 1-8 [English Audio]
Very much anticipated this one and I really think it lives up to that expectation. I may not be familiar with the exact source of this beyond a brief summation of the story and concept, but I greatly enjoyed the mystery the show is trying to tell. For sure, you can tell the influences the story has from when it was created (in the mid 2000s) but is absolutely engaging (one sequence especially given recent events), so much so that I watched all 8 episodes in a day (which is about 8 hours or so in total). I could perhaps critique some shots used (even if it looks great most of the time) but really, its something you should go watch immediately if even slightly interested.
Was also especially pleased by the dub, with good direction (and the dub director of Monster at the helm), the cast here is especially veteran heavy, with rare anime appearances from the likes of Fred Tatasciore, Adrian Pasdar, Nolan North and the great Keith David as Dr Tenma, all of which fit their respective roles with strong work. Excellent stuff.

Keith David is the voice of Goliath in Gargoyles, correct? I really want to see this too it looked awesome from the trailer

Aim for the Ace! - Episodes 10 - 26 [Final] (Blu-ray)

I really liked Aim for the Ace, it certainly lived up to the hype. The character stories and development were fantastic and the animation while at times was understandable quite basic at others was incredibly creative and did a great job creating the dynamic nature of tennis. It has aged very, very well.

Golden Warrior Gold Lightan - Episode 9

Gun X Sword episodes 25-26 (Complete. A solid mid 2000’s anime that’s been on the watch list for a while.) 3.5/5

I watched Gun Sword about 10 years ago and was really looking forward to it, but like most Goro Tanaguchi shows I thought it was a bit of a mixed bag and quite mediocre overall.

Aura Battler Dunbine
A more fantasy take on mecha from Gundam's Yoshiyuki Tomino. While it's got the good political commentary, mecha action and world setting you'd expect from Tomino I found it dragged on for too long and got pretty repetitive. The final episode was also a right mess to say the least which rushes through everything with no time for explanation or resolution. Really unfortunate that.

I've seen Dunbine twice (on DVD) and ended up with the same opinion both times, but I have been meaning to watch the Blu-ray set that I have on shelf for some time now.

I love RahXephon, I didn't find it that confusing if I'm honest but will admit that it makes a lot more sense on second viewing.
