At the MCM Belfast Comic Con this weekend, the United Kingdom-based distributor Anime Limited held a panel confirming some of their plans for the coming year, including the home video plans for two television anime series' previously simulcast by the company, as well as details on the long-awaited release of a theatrical feature.

Between July and September last year, Anime Limited simulcast Studio Pierrot's twelve episode adaptation of the Tokyo Ghoul dark fantasy manga via the Wakamin streaming service and now, they are currently planning to release the series on DVD and blu-ray in October; although no further details could be confirmed at the time of the announcement.

Similarly, Anime Limited are also planning a 2016 home video release for Doga Kobo's science fiction anime Plastic Memories, which is currently airing and being simulcast by the distributor via Crunchyroll.

We are closer however, to the highly anticipated home video release of Production I.G's theatrical feature 009 Re:Cyborg, which was originally stated to be targeting a June release, but is now expected to be available from July 2015. The movie will be released both as a standalone DVD, as well as a three disc DVD/Blu-ray combi-pack that will contain the following:

Blu-ray disc: The movie in both 2D and 3D video formats, featuring both the original Japanese language and English subtitles and an English dub.

DVD Disc #1: The movie alongside film trailers, teasers, promotional videos and the special prologue. This disc will be used for the seperate DVD release.

DVD Disc #2: 107 minutes of bonus featurettes about the animation, sound, an interview with director Kenji Kamiyama, 3D preview at Ishinomaki and Premium Screening at Shinjuku Wald 9. The reason for this disc being a DVD has been noted as being due to the space constraints on the first blu-ray disc.

Are you looking forward to any of these upcoming releases?
