Madhouse Studios and CAPCOM have announced that they will work on a new 12 episode anime TV series based on the popular horror video game Devil May Cry, set to air on Japanese TV during 2007.

Madhouse Studios, who are also working on the new Death Note anime TV series, are amongst Japan's most prolific and loved animation houses, having worked on everything from Ninja Scroll and Paranoia Agent to Fighting Spirit and Monster (both currently unreleased in the UK).

??? And what about Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, X and Millenium Actress? Some of those are unreleased here as well.

I chose to name drop the above shows because they're my personal favourites :) It's a travesty that Monster is still unlicensed.

Cool games, if they dont make a mess of the story theres real potential here. I hope that Dante's hilariously bad one liners make it in tact

-"Lets rock baby!"

Travesty doesnt cut it.

Really looking forward to this. I wonder if they'll stick to the main game theme and have him slaying monsters battling to one big papa nasty. Or will it stick more to the games subplot where Dante is a Private Eye at the 'Devil May Cry' agency.

I would say that it would probably pay them to stay away from the game plots and they would keep it as before/after games

Agreed I just hope they keep the weapons the same as the Huge morphing sword at the end of the original DMC would look amazing being used on screen

I just hope they have the guitar/sickle from DMC 3! Both musical and deadly!

I was just getting back into playing DMC, and i've always thought it would be a good contender for a anime, so i'm looking forward to this, hope it's good. I think it says on AnimeDB that it should be airing in January

Well another bump but for any of you still following it man it was hard finding this topic.
