Hi people! I just wanted to tell everyone about the UK's central anime, manga and Japanese culture convention in Derby (how more central can you get than the East Midlands and the heart of Derbyshire?)

J-Con has been running for four years now (this will be its fourth) and has over 1000+ people attend every year. It's so much fun and filled with events, guests, traders (even little shops and people making handmade items) and even has a second day to the convention for a Cosplay Party where there's food, drink, music and partying!

I've been for three years now and this will be my first year cosplaying. I love J-Con and I think it's one of the most accessable conventions around. Here's the info on it below:

Dates:
Friday September 16th - Cosplay Party Day
Saturday September 17th - Actual convention day

Times:
Cosplay Party Day - 6.00pm - 11.00pm
Convention day - 11.00am - 11.00pm (10.00am for Fast Track ticket holders)

Location:
Riverside Courts, Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire
DE24 8HY

The Riverside Courts is 15 mins drive away from the M1, witihn 30 minutes of East Midlands airport and 10 mins walk from Derby train station. There will be a few runners (errand running people) meeting in Derby square at separate times of the day to take people from the city centre to Riverside Courts so if you don't know where it is, that's fine!

Hotels nearby:
Heritage Hotel - http://www.heritage-hotel.co.uk/
Budget hotel about 15 min walk away from the Riverside Courts

Legacy Hotel - http://www.legacy-hotels.co.uk/
This is for those of you wanting a hotel near the train station, plus about 5 mins away from the Riverside Courts

Tickets:
Fast Track Tickets (VIP tickets enabling you entrance to the convention an hour before anyone else and a FREE GOODIE BAG. Also enables entry to both days.) - £30 each
Standard 2 Day ticket (ticket enabling you entry to both days at the normal time) - £20 each
