For Ghibli completists and lovers of the more serene Ghibli films like Only Yesterday and Whisper of the Heart.

The release of this film essentially completes the feature length Ghibli canon in the UK. (Note that we now have 3 more movies than the US. One little bastion of exclusivity for us all).

Sounds good, though I'd still like to see Optimum release more of Takahata's pre-Ghibli films.

Ghibl market in the UK is a odd one, seems like the anime market is niche but Ghibli's popularity seems to be in a league of it's own.

What doesn't help is that Disney distribute in the US and they don't like to associate themselves with "risque" products.

In Dublin its the only studio where I know I can catch a cinema version. This is beside the fact that ive only gone to one cinema release and it was for earthsea so i feel like i missed the boat, but the principle stands.

For something like the evangelion movies the best i can hope for is a special edition bluray if that even gets released over here
