Sad indeed but he did live to a ripe age.

I recently got the documentary film Ray Harryhausen - Special Effects Titan, if you're at all interested in his career it's definitely worth tracking down.

Sad news. I grew up watching his work. He's will be remembered fondly by cinephiles the world over.
