In keeping with the last few volumes, 2nd Gig #5 continues to prove that the series’ strength lies in developing in its characters. With just six episodes to go, however, it remains to be seen whether the slightly underwhelming main storyline can transform into something more engaging before the end.

A superb volume in my opinion, the only real issue being the dire subtitles.

In previous volumes the motives of the individual eleven are made very confusing by the contradictary subtitles and there are even a mistake regarding the gender of a character! (Something I would assume is obvious). I recommend that any one watching this should stick with the dub, not just because of the dubs good quality but because of the subttitles contrastingly poor standards.

Oh MangaUK, you make me cry. They obviously don't give a crap about the subtitles on their DVD's and focus on getting dubs. All well and good but I like my original language versions thanks. -_-

It is a fantastic volume though. Contains my favourite episode, "Wings of Desire".
