Debatably. But consider who he's up against.
Admittedly I haven't seen DBZ, PoT or Hitman Reborn, but the others... Oboro is a fairly standard warrior type, Sasuke is wangst, Xellos, Mikami and Kon are mild comedy and Gendo, while fun, is an evil bugger.

Kyon is boring but the series he's involved in is insanely popular. Same as the way the Code Geass bandwagon is going to be representing a lot in this year's arena. Love them or not, the characters more people know are more likely to get votes than pretty faces nobody recognises.

I wonder if some fans don't see a bit of themselves in Kyon too (I sure don't but it's not impossible).

Ah well even if I'm the only one, Xellos all the way. The new season of Slayers is up soon and I can't wait until it comes to DVD.

Having only seen the anime I thought they were girls but I did have my doubts.

Fits better with the mouth movements probably. Or to match the manga. Or because it makes him sound crazier. I think there are cooler sounding words but "delete" isn't wrong at all as a translation ;p

Now I see your point. E-lim-in-ate doesn't match up with sa-ku-jo. But neither does 'delete', but never mind. xD It sounds quite cool anyway.
