Death Scythe
Following on from the earlier news that Geneon Entertainment USA's (a large US distributor; MVM distribute a lot of their titles in the UK) sales and marketing will be completely taken over by ADV Films (US) - for the benefit of both companies; Geneon have laid off five of their staff from this area, making a total decrease in company staff of 20%.

Another major development reveals that Geneon Entertainment USA is now wholely owned by Dentsu (a massive Japanese company who specialise in advertising) again, after 34% of its share was sold to d-rights (a subsidary of Mitsubishi Corporation).
This 34% share has now been divested, and so Geneon Entertainment USA is owned solely by Dentsu. It is to be noted that the collaboration set up a two billion Yen fund for the international promotion of "Guardian of the Sacred Spirit" (Seirei no Moribito) - which was produced by Production I.G, whether or not this fund still stands and/or if d-rights will have any involvement in the promotion is unknown at this point in time, likewise for what this could mean for the future of Geneon Entertainment USA.
