All this talk of low sales of titles reminds me of something Andrew did oh so long ago, sales figures, I can understand why he doesn't now, too many other things to do but he did used to inform a lot more than he does nowadays.
Guess it's a process, turning a fan into a business man, rather than vice versa.
 
Liz was kind of difficult to deal with - especially regarding the KyoAni arson.
No western company received the Blu-ray-masters - all had to use the cinematic version for their releases.

I reckon March has a better chance because Aniplex always tends to request a holdback from other regions to avoid reverse importation. So if March S2 gets released in 2020 I reckon it'll do fine (even better if the US sets go out of print, which speaking of - Plastic Memories in the US is out of print so the UK ones could sell out sooner than expected).

Crossing my fingers real hard. Maybe we'll hear something official in the meantime.

it's probably down to some western contract agreements, i don't really see companies over here talking specific sales numbers as much as i do the Japanese companies but it would be nice to know if a series sold poorly or not to avoid waiting 2-3 years and giving up to import it and see they finally announced it's getting a local release

But down to £15 a set a year after release means it must have not sold well.
 
If anything it means sound sold well, how is that a sign of no S2?

A series selling the 1000 copies it printed, without going on sale ever, that came out about 1 year ago.
 
But stuff like Gundam 00 sells out of 1000 copies in a few months.
I love sound but I do acknowledge it’s not popular in the west outside anime fans and I do blame a lack of a dub for that.
 
I just question why they have never licensed liz or Promise.
Apparently Liz wasn't at SLA 2018 because the licensor wanted a wide release and AL didn't trust it enough I guess.
 
Actually, Sound was on sale once, at AL's Back to School sale at the end of August. It was on sale for £29.99. The sale also included (but not limited to) March Comes In Like a Lion, the Full Metal Panic series and the Persona3 movies.
 
Meh. I still went for it anyway at the time.

By the way, despite MVM removing it from their Anime-on-line website, Anime Limited still has it on sale on their website. It's not even on their titles-nearly-out-of-print category yet.

Still up on Zavvi and up1 too, and curiously on amazon via MVM for £38, even though it was around £48 on their own site I think.

Almost panic bought it, but can't justify paying that much after everything I spent on the anime sales last few weeks, and especially if it looks likes like there'll be no season 2 release.
 
Wasn't it difficult enough to get S1 to begin with with that having to go back to the dawing board, so S2 not being there could still be that same undisclosed issue preventing things?

Do you know how long those holdbacks usually are?
