If they not using Nozomi's version, what makes this one any better or worse? I don't understand why they not using Nozomi's version.

For a franchise that has strived to include English subs on the entire Love Live franchise, it's just a baffling move. I don't get it at all.
If I had to guess, it could be Crunchyroll complaining that English subs are cutting into their profits for the Western releases, which is dumb because CR won't release a LE version of the newer entries in the franchise and is more likely to half ass it compared to the JP BDs.
It's because they have the rights for multiple regions this time for both Build Fighters and Movie Trilogy 4K, which I suspect is their new approach going forward, much like how Crunchyroll are doing with providing French & German audio for select titles.
I do think it can turn out well as long as they don't use Com’on Screen (the folks who author many or all of @Anime's releases) and rely on a more suitable company like VDMS (Movie Trilogy 4K is very likely with VDMS (or MediaOCD if there's no Dolby Atmos/Vision) so it should be in good hands either way).
Talking about this has reminded of how Gundam NT is literally one of the worst they've put out (stripped extras, bad authoring, theatrical masters, what an absolute slapshow of a disc that was - not to mention the film was bad enough as it was).

But that means they will then have to take a 3 year hiatus to recover from releasing too many Gundam titles in 1 year.

I think it might just be that Next Sky and Yohane the Parhelion are just odd cases tbh. Past OVAs haven't been subbed either and Yohane isn't the typical Love Live series. Bandai Visual isn't a stranger to inconsistency with subtitles either. The latest Gundam series also lacks subtitles. I imagine importing is also a pretty niche practice, especially so for Japanese releases. I doubt there's enough imports for Crunchyroll to take issue with tbh. It's anyone's guess as to why they didn't give them subtitles.

What makes it all particularly unusual is that they pulled English subs off Nijiyon last minute and didn't say anything about it. The Amazon JP page still lists it as having English subs.

I don't know why AL (or any other anime label, to my knowledge) have never used Fidelity in Motion to author their releases. They're widely considered the best in the business and, considering their clientele is mostly boutique labels, I doubt their asking price is excessively high. They should definitely consider them for releases like Gundam 4K

Feels incredibly greedy to do the same style release as OG, Zeta, ZZ, Wing, OO, Turn A, IBO which ALL had 25eps in their first part for a release that has 12eps!
In my opinion it's a massive L for Anime Limited and to fans who put off importing.
Sould've been part one 25eps part two GBF Try... oh well at least the US complete season one is only £45!

For me it’s the fact they want me to spend £40 on something they can’t even show a pack shot off. Well that was more of a concern before it’s lets make these Gundam releases more global when we have discs that already exist. (Also is that US release 7 years old wow…)
Also the fact these Gundam releases no longer have any rhyme or reason anymore just baffles me now. Like where is G which was popular in America enough for a UE or if more UC Victory. I want the 0079 films in 4K but if it’s like £100+ that’s a no as I think the expenses for the other language support may tip the price up just look at CR’s platinum end.

Andrew told me that they were just waiting on packaging files for Build and Build Try (and Victory)... in 2016. So yeah, they've had it a wee while lol (yes, I'm aware plans can change. I'm just messing).
I'll also say I'm not thrilled about the split of Build, feels pretty shady tbh, made even worse by the fact it's their first Gundam release with the new pricing, which doesn't exactly help lol.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but their last split part Gundam series release was IBO part 2? Which I'm pretty sure was £34.99 for 25eps? so this is £39.99 for 12eps, that's a 115%'ish price increase
Will probably be the same for GBF Try so that's £180 for 2 seasons of Build Fighters?!

Sad thing is offering all of Build Fighters in one set could have given them a great impulse purchase given how many new fans it brought in when originally aired. Splitting it like this is just a very penny pinching idea. We know from releases like CCA and F91 they can do decent Gundam standalones so why not repeat that here?
Half makes me wonder if they'll split up Island Wars and GM's Counterattack if they get to them.
I really don't want to be/like being negative but AL's handling of Gundam feels increasingly like a monkey's paw wish.

Since we're all discussing our concerns on the Build Fighters release news, I am also in agreement that it's not a good look to split up a 2-cour series when Nozomi has already released this for the exact same price of this set back in 2016. Now I get that the US release is region locked but it's not a good excuse to split it up as we're not a region that shares the same Blu-ray code as Japan.
Now I would have treated this like any other TV set if Gundam in general never had the 2-cour per set layout to begin with, but all this is doing is a few factors - 1) inflating the space for the Gundam collection when Build Fighters could have easily been optimised to have Part 1 cover the first series and Part 2 cover the second series (Build Fighters Try). 2) making fans who had waited patiently for years to complete their Region B Gundam collection to now spend twice as much due to this format on specific titles if this is to be the norm. SRP increase isn't my issue as it's only a £5 increase when taking into account the 10% membership for early birds.
We know that this will also be self-authored rather than utilise the Nozomi masters, and I generally do not have an issue with this on the condition that it's handled to an authoring company who has a good reputation. As I mentioned before, handling it over to Com’on Screen (who authored French discs like Anime Limited's French branch) is not a good sign especially as they have a track record of pretty bad releases (with Gundam Narrative being one example as explained before). If this was VDMS I'll be more comfortable as I know Levius did have multi-language support and looked good, but even so you could easily have all 4 discs in one part than split it up - unless you realised that the BBFC asks for ratings for each audio and subtitle track which increased the costs (this is an assumption fyi).
