What's the worst anime you own on DVD?

For me, I have many 'gems' just waiting to be watched, so I'm not 100%.

In terms of films, Riding Bean got 1/10 from me. In terms of series, Melody of Oblivion is most likely the worst now that I no longer own Doki Doki School Hours.

If I could go back in time, I'd tell myself that quality is more important than quantity. It'd probably be a bit pointless since I tend not to listen, though.

Probably Kai Doh Maru or one of the worse Lupin specials in the two Funimation box sets - I'd have to rewatch them all to tell you which one as I watched them all in short succession and can't remember which is which any more. But I don't own anything I consider absolutely dire.

Howls moving castle :D

It sucked so much
Miyazaki is sooooooooo overrated

Bah, it's one of the only Ghibli films I really liked ;)

For me the worst ones I actually knowingly bought and watched were Weiß Kreuz and Mahou Yuugi. Neither was terribly offensively bad but they were both just so bland and average that I don't think I'd notice if they went missing. Even the weird girl whose cats kept falling off and leaving her naked couldn't save MY.

If we include VHS I had a lot worse. Fortunately I realised that there was a lot of bad anime out there by the time DVD came around and spared myself some torture.

Of my husband's contributions to our collection I only really hate Geneshaft.

I rated Howl's Moving Castle 5/10. Why? I don't remember, but I do recollect thinking it was over-rated rubbish. The same goes for Spirited Away.

At least Princess Mononoke makes up for their failings by being 10/10 worthy.

Speaking for myself, the least-enjoyed anime which I happen to own is The Wings of Honneamise. I don't think it's a bad film, but it ends on a note that's a little too vague and symbolic to provide genuine closure or satisfaction.

My sister owns Howl's Moving Castle. I do not.

The worst things I currently own are Excel Saga and Advent Children.

Not that I know whether they're particular aweful or not; but I really have no interest in watching them.

I tried to sit and watch Advent Children the other day but it felt like a chore just sitting through the first couple of scenes.

The animation is 'technically' amazing, I guess. However it is not good to look at, the colours make the whole thing just look dreary, it's almost as if they took the bright, brilliant and bold settings from Final Fantasy VII and thought; 'Nah, colour is so 1995. This is the year of the emos.'
The fight scenes aren't satisfying to watch at all, there's no weight to them and they are so poorly choreographed that I found there was a much more interesting show on the back of my eyelids.

And the visuals are the best thing about it, which says something about everything else.

Easy one: Socerer Hunters (Chocolate, Springs nad other Hot Things) OVA.

1) It's something I didn't know was the later part of a series already made.
2) Apart from Chocolate (one of the female characters), I absolutely hated it. And when the girls transformed, even though it's a comedy, I couldnt even take that "seriously."

Definately not something I'd go back to...

Rurouni Kenshin, I remembered it as being substantially better than it was when I rewatched it over christmas. :(
Here here. I remember the first time I watched that and thought that while it wasn't amazing it was one of the better Jump shows but recently watching it back it was hard to get through the first couple of disks! The music is a major killer of any mood the show might have. It's overpowering and most of the time out of place.

The worst I own is probably Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. Completely pointless and up its own ****. The only thing it was successful in being was a confusing and pretentious clip show. Filler until End of Eva was released.

I got rid of Elfen Lied so I have no particularly bad anime. I guess Hellsing would be the anime that's my least liked in my collection.

According to MAL, my lowest ranked anime that I still own is Kite Liberator. It's pretty terrible. The only reason I'm keeping it is because Umetsu's female character designs are gorgeous and it has some decent fanservice.

Zaion, Power Dollz and Kai Doh Maru are the first to jump to mind. I will have to have a look through my collection and see if I have been trying to block anything else out.

Kai Doh Maru is on my list of the worst I own as well. Appalling, especially so as it wasn't a 'manga classics' release at the time, but a first rate one.

Looking through my dvds, the following list comes up.

Kai Doh Maru
Virus
Nadesico - Prince of Darkness (As i have said before, the series is great, this is terrible)
Samurai X
New Gall Force
