I don't think I have ever heard of that description before. I haven't seen the show before, is there some kind of off screen sex or something? Implied Masturbation? I'm kind of just taking shots in the dark. From what I've heard/seen of the show, it can be pretty fan service-y so I'd expect something like that.

That's terrible :S

Unless somethings changed, I'm sure the last I looked the only shows out of the "Yet to be released" list with predicted decent sales are Symphogear GX & Prison School yet that's not guaranteed... :/

At least the written goods have seen some boosts, School Live & Prison School Manga's sales have increased & Overlord is killing it in the Light Novel charts so they could be presumed successes.

Estimates for next week's sales:

18.2k Symphogear GX
*7.4k Prison School
*5.9k GATE
*3.2k Dandelion
*2.9k Ushio to Tora
*1.9k Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
*1.6k Sora ga Seiyuu
*1.4k Ranpo Kitan
*0.8k Aoharu x Kikanjuu

There's rumours going around that the results this week aren't complete. This isn't the first time that it's happened as Gundam Reconguista suffered this problem (people thought it sold poorly but in the end it actually sold a couple thousand copies).

Apparently there are rumours circling around that animation studio Manglobe are declaring bankrupt.

Manglobe recently handled Gangsta., Project Itoh: Genocidal Organ, Samurai Flamenco and The World God Only Knows series. They also worked on Ergo Proxy.

SoundScan unveiled their results just recently, and it turns out the sales on Monday were incomplete. Read more here.
EVENING UPDATE: Yep! Soundscan differs greatly, in exactly the ways I expected. Also some other ways, which in addition to last week’s data are revealing that it’s super **** at tracking anime specialty shops. This is clearly still hurting Kurobas a little, and probably Deremas as I don’t think Aniplex+ is included. This may also explain both why Charlotte was so underestimated going by Oricon sales, and why Soundscan has such a low number for it. It must be moving a ton at Aniplex+ shop.

Because of the super rare circumstances today, I’m posting the Soundscan tables as well (I won’t normally do this). If you’re curious about Soundscan having slightly different this week and total numbers for series in their first week, my assumption is that it’s counting a handful of discs that were reported/sold really early. Just pay attention to the total in this case.

Updated Blu-ray chart:

Anime Rank - Chart Rank - Week Sales - Total Sales - #Wks - Title
01 - 03 - 7,359 - 7,368 - 1 - Overlord v1

Overall Volume 1 chart:

2,984 - Fate/Kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz! (DVDs didn't rank)

School-Live!'s initial sales are beyond disappointing, especially considering that Charlotte managed to shift so many units.

I'm not surprised that Gatchaman Crowds insight doesn't appear to be doing well because to be honest, the series was pretty mediocre outside of its last few episodes.

Why is everyone so bitter about Charlotte's sales? I was really disappointed by Charlotte and went on some colossal rants about one or two episodes, but even I'm fine with how many it sold in comparison to everything else.

Because personally, I thought there were a number of shows that deserved to sell more yet didn't. Charlotte had a lot of potential and was visually pleasing, but I can't help but feel that said potential was completely squandered towards the end of its run.
